I wonder if you’ll let Walt take it our for a ‘spin’ sometime? No matter, congratulations on being the 2024 recipient and winner of the Slate Run Sportsmen Founder’s Rod LeighAnne! You’ll have 2024 to fish the rod and then hand it off to someone new next March at the SRS 2025 Spring Membership Meeting that’ll be held in the spring of 2025! Good fishing LeAnne!

Hiya Darrell – It’s an old bamboo rod, nothing really special as far as the maker (as I think the maker is unknown and not cited on the rod). Still, it’s ‘special’ to those that receive it as it has the heritage associated with the club! Comes with a book where the receiver gets listed as having won it for that particular year. So it’s a pretty neat thing to receive. I think those that have actually fished it have put a 5 or 6 weight rod/line on it and used it in the past. Anyway, that is something we do each Spring meeting with the club! Thanks for the inquiry Darrell!
